SERVPRO of Whittier was called in to help after this home had been flooded. We have been asked before why we have to add drying equipment to flooring and walls, wondering why the water can’t just evaporate on its own.

Secondary damage is the reason for needing drying equipment. Damage that happens after the initial damage is considered secondary, i.e., mold growth.

The evaporation process of water is too slow and can cause potential mold or mildew to grow.  This can turn a water damage into a bigger job. Air movement and dehumidification quickens the evaporation of the left-over water.
